Milestone 229 proved to be a pleasant surprise for our large group of about a dozen after a volunteer event at the Ronald McDonald House. Navigating downtown traffic and parking can be a bit of a hassle, as expected, but once inside, the restaurant's ambiance made it worth the effort. The space boasts impressive architectural details, with large, sweeping windows providing a great view - including one overlooking a sizeable splash pad, which would be a plus for families with younger children. They also have a patio for when the weather cooperates. Our server, whom I believe was named Kael (forgive me if I've butchered the spelling), was absolutely fantastic. Handling a group our size with grace and efficiency isn't always easy, but he did it with a smile. The menu offered interesting, elevated takes on classic dishes. It wasn't just your standard fare; there were noticeable twists in presentation and ingredient choices that added a touch of sophistication. This was particularly appreciated, as our group had a few members with dietary restrictions, and everyone was able to find something that suited their needs. Many in our party sampled the cocktail menu and gave it high marks. I opted for my usual Boylan Root Beer, which is always a treat. Several people also indulged in dessert, either enjoying it there or taking it to go. My only real gripe was the location of the restrooms. They were tucked down a somewhat strange hallway near what appeared to be storage areas, which felt a bit out of sync with the otherwise well-designed layout of the restaurant. Overall, Milestone 229 offers a solid dining experience. The combination of the atmosphere, attentive service, and creative menu makes it a worthwhile destination. It's a great place for a business lunch, a special occasion, or even a post-event gathering as we did. If not for the bathroom situation, it would easily be a five-star review. As it stands, I'm comfortable rounding up my 4.5-star rating to a solid 5.

We went in for a little lunch and had a lovely meal! Our server, Richelle, was super sweet and very attentive! My salmon salad was perfect and the salmon was cooked just like I like it! Nice sided portion and Richelle suggested i get the salmon warm and good call! hubby had some shrimp tacos but my salad stole the show! And pretty spot overlooking the river and the fountain off to the other side.

We got seated quickly and during the arts festival. I got B.E.L.T. The dill aioli really made the sandwich come together. It didn't taste like pickles which was a good thing. It added a brightness to it. The breakfast potatoes were crunchy in a good way!

We hadn't been in a long time. 239 is still a special place. Lots of construction in the area that hopefully be ready by the Arts Festival. Nice assortment on the menu and bar. I hear they have a great HH. Ably served by Hannah.

Stopped for beer and take out for Downtown living. Super nice service at bar and enjoyed a draft while we waited. Being a winter Sunday night, we didn't sit outside, but looks to be an awesome riverside spot for the summer!

Came for a quick cocktail and enjoyed it. Service was fast and attentive. The construction behind this place really ruined the ambiance for me. I hope they wrap up soon and it's as beautiful as before! I don't think I'd go back while construction is still going on.
